I’m a Texas native who left the Lone Star State for the mountains of Utah and currently, the Big Sky state of Montana. My wife and I took a hiatus from medicine for a year of pure travel that was unfortunately halted early due to COVID. We’ve traveled to nearly 75 countries and can’t wait to see even more of this incredible planet.

Despite the wildfires ravaging California, we had a blissfully clear day exploring a place we knew as the Yosemite Valley. This park is stolen land from the Miwok people and the original name was the Ahwahnee Valley. Let’s respect the history we so often ignore. #happyindigenouspeoplesday
Just a friendly reminder that if this is just a “political opinion” to you, you’re missing your own significant privilege slapping you in the face. It’s more than politics, it’s people’s lives. Literally.

And if you support a man who won’t condemn white supremacy, that makes you not much better.

Posting this nice photo from Nepal to remind some Posting this nice photo from Nepal to remind some fellow Americans that in case you missed it, Whitney and I have traveled extensively across multiple continents and met people from all over the world in the four years of Trump’s presidency. And guess what? We haven’t met a single foreigner who thinks highly of the US since his inauguration. They were all appalled that our country elected him. Their opinion of the US in regards to foreign policy has dwindled. People are losing respect for our country. So don’t quote me some bullshit about how he has done well regarding foreign policy as your reason for voting for him. Strengthening ties with Russia and North Korea isn’t something to be proud of. Neither is alienating allies. It’s really about your money and strengthening white supremacy. Just admit it.
And all the lives we ever lived and all the lives And all the lives we ever lived and all the lives to be are full of trees and changing leaves.

Last night, we split a bottle of wine and a homemade cheeseboard and I read to Whitney passages from my book. I started writing not long after COVID relegated us stateside for the year, needing something to redirect my thoughts to other than the disappointment of it all.

It was so special sharing the book with her. So vulnerable. It is all about us, our story and our adventures. It’s a travel memoir documenting the stories behind the photos, the funny moments and mishaps of our travels to over 70 countries. Reliving those moments while reading aloud was the best way to celebrate our love.

Cheers to 4 years of marriage and nearly 9 years together! 🥂love you monks! 😘
