Asheville, North Carolina

My birthday fell on probably the best day of the road trip. We started with a patio breakfast with mimosas in Asheville, North Carolina. After some good ole southern grits for breakfast, we visited the Biltmore Estate.

The Biltmore opened on Christmas Eve of 1895 as the home of George Vanderbilt. The 250 room French Renaissance chateau took 6 years to build and is considered America’s largest home. The 8,000 acre estate boasts the home, gardens, multiple hotels, and Antler Hill Village and Winery.

After touring the grounds of the Biltmore Estate, we drove along the Blue Ridge Parkway and through Great Smoky Mountains National Park. We ended the day in Gatlinburg, Tennessee. More on that in another post.
