Merida, Mexico

Merida is hot. And when I say hot, I mean scorching and humid and exhausting. A short city walk nearly wiped me out with the only relief being the hotel pool. To survive the blistering afternoon, we did what all people do in that kind of weather. We drank. We went to a cantina in town that served two for one margaritas, traditional Yucatan food, and drank the night away.

The next morning, we hit up a few cenotes. Cenotes are cave like systems that are filled with filtered rain water, making the water incredibly clear. As the sunlight penetrates the cave openings, rays of light create a glorious effect in the water. It is truly magical.
