Redwoods, wine tasting, family. What more could a girl ask for on her birthday? For my 29th birthday weekend, Whit and I went out to California to spend one last weekend with my brother and his family before hitting the road until December. When we arrived at their house on Friday night, I was shocked to see “Bon Voyage” signs, world balloons, and other travel regalia all over the dining room. To top it off, my brother reached out to my aunt and uncle to meet us at Muir Woods National Monument the following morning for a stroll through the redwoods and lunch. It was Whit’s first time seeing these magnificent beauties and she quickly fell in love. It was a great chance to catch up and breathe in a little nature.

That afternoon, we headed out to Sonoma for some wine tasting. My sister-in-law was so thoughtful and found the winery where we got our wine for our wedding a few years back. We hopped to three different wineries and learned so much about the process. We happened on some Bastille Day celebrations as well, which had great games for the kids. We topped off an amazing day with a fancy Italian dinner in downtown Sonoma.
