Walt Disney World Resort: EPCOT

IMG_1754

Walt Disney originally planned EPCOT, an acronym for Experimental Prototype Community of Tomorrow, as a utopian futuristic city. This planned community would include a city center, residential areas, and mass transit. Unfortunately, Walt Disney died before the idea came to fruition. EPCOT instead became another theme park of the Walt Disney World Resorts. EPCOT is more science and education based, rather than heavy on rides, which we loved. The World Showcase wraps around the central pond, truly creating an around the world experience. You can grab fish and chips in the UK, snag a croissant in France, and shop in the souks of Morocco. Each country boasts quintessential architecture of each region and houses a multitude of ethnic restaurants. We rode the “Soarin’ Around the World” ride which was fantastic! We also got lucky. Our visit coincided with the Flower Garden Festival, where countless Disney characters were sculpted out of greenery and fauna.
