During one of our longer driving days, we visited various oases along with the Todra Gorge and a famous Kasbah called Kasbah Amridil. Kasbah Amridil is located in Skoura along the “road of one thousand kasbahs.” The valley is dotted with oases and the old home is surrounded by date palms. It was built in the 17th century and is still owned by the same family. We toured the inner structure of the fortress and learned how everyday life happened in past times.
Todra Gorge is referenced as Morocco’s Grand Canyon. The staggering limestone cliffs follow the riverbed rushing with clear water. I personally thought it looked much more like the Narrows of Zion National Park. Regardless, it’s a splendid natural wonder.
