Ait Benhaddou, likely recognized from the films Gladiator and Laurence of Arabia, is a ksar or walled group of earthen buildings. This fortified village contains many Kasbahs within and is representative of traditional mud style homes.
To reach Ait Benhaddou, we drove over the High Atlas Mountains admiring old Berber villages and dramatic views.
After touring the site, we headed on to OuarzazateĀ for the night. Ouarzazate is known as the Hollywood of North Africa and served as the filming site for The Mummy, Game of Thrones, and countless other films. Next up, CAMELS!
