The mountains are calling

IMG_3887

Oh it has been so long since I have written anything for this blog.. and I honestly am kind of stuck in a rut. I don’t know how to navigate my current emotions nor do I know how to articulate my thoughts at this moment. I know that I’m burnt out, that I would give anything to have weekends free (like completely free and not on call, thereby preventing me from going into the canyons). Lately, the invisible tether between the mountains and my soul seems to be pulled taut with yearning. I want to look towards the mountain peaks and head upwards, yet I’m stuck with my feet planted here in the city. Humph.. that is all I can say. So instead of hiking, I will sit on my bum in a coffee shop where I unwillingly have cell service (darn call!) and flip through photos from days on mountain tops and afternoons on the banks of alpine lakes.

First, our annual getaway – Red Pine Lake.

And a close second favorite- Lake Blanche.
